I'm striving to be that Proverbs 31 Woman... and God's not finished with me yet.
I am the wife of a loving husband, the mother of three grown daughters and grandmother of two precious grandsons. I love the Lord with all my heart, soul and strength and my family with everything else within me.
Functioning as a music minister and recently ordained as Minister, I am very active in my local church and have been a member of that dynamic ministry for nearly 25 years.
Professionally, my background is in advertising, marketing and project management with experience in retail advertising, agency direct marketing and nonprofit fundraising. I earned my B.S. degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Mass Communications, the Broadcast Journalism sequence.
I enjoy singing, writing, reading, photography, gardening, cooking, interior decorating and nearly anything else creative. I've even tried my hand at furniture refinishing and simple upholstery. Cooking and baking are also a treat for me. However because of my busy schedule, I usually relegate the special menus to special occasions and entertaining.
But I also like long naps on lazy Sunday afternoons. Just give me a good book, a shoulder rub and a cup of tea and I am a happy camper. ...Oh... and a meal that somebody else prepared--preferably seafood or Chinese--and I'm shoutin' "hallelujah!"
I wasn't gifted with the flawless homemaking, garden-growing, business-buiding prowess of a Martha Stewart (sans the little prison thing). And I haven't developed the Oprah-touch...yet. So, if I allowed myself to, I could very easily be intimidated by the rare, perfect woman illustrated in Proverbs 31.
But God reminds me that she is our standard, much like the 10 Commandments are. Both of these levels of excellence demonstrate that we must wholly depend on a Holy God who is full of love and grace. He has equipped us by His Son, Jesus Christ, to do as we are called.
The Lord gave me Glorious Tapestries as a means to share this message and to network with other women--worldwide--allowing me the opportunity to provide encouragement and sisterhood to women from all walks of life.
I can't wait to see where God takes it!
