Who is Jesus? Why Did He Come?
The bible says that Jesus was the very Word (will, intent, plan) of God Himself. And that He lived among man as an example of the glory of God. He died for our redemption and was resurrected for our deliverance.
John 1:1-5; and 1:14, 16-17 puts it this way:
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
16 And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
John 3:16-18 adds:
16" For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
Jesus, in John 10:10, contrasts Himself with the devil:
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Glorious Tapestries' ultimate objective is to glorify (honor with praise, admiration or worship) Jesus...to point others to Him and to express our gratitude for our lives in Him.
